Process heat

De­pend­ing on the in­dus­try and area of ap­pli­ca­tion, the term process heat has dif­fer­ent mean­ings. In tech­ni­cal process­es (cast­ing, tem­per­ing, sin­ter­ing, melt­ing, forg­ing, etc.), process heat pri­mar­i­ly stands for the heat or warmth re­quired for the ap­pli­ca­tion and op­er­a­tion. In oth­er ar­eas, process heat refers to the waste heat re­leased by pro­ce­dures and process­es, which can al­so be put to fur­ther use in heat re­cov­ery sys­tems. Process heat is main­ly gen­er­at­ed by combustion.
